Ai, dat deed zeer! / Ouch! That hurts!

ENGLISH:
Because of a short trip I did not have a filling up for almost a month. And that was not a good idea...
The VUmc has sent a plastic surgery closer to me a letter. With the question whether he would do the injection in my arm a few times.
It saves me some trips to Amsterdam (which is about 2 hours with the train for me). He agreed, so last tuesday 27th sept I went to the (new) hospital.
He and his nurse were both a bit shocked by my arm, the sensitive edge to more specific. They told me this was the beginning of a (im not sure what the exact english word is)
pressure ulcer/bedsore. Of course I was shocked by this!
The edge of the expander puts pressure on my tissue and skin, so that explains it all.
I had to massage it really well and press, with bandaid for instance, it back to release some pressure.
Besides, he said that a month of not filling up was not good. It was way too long in his opinion. The expander would like... ´stick onto my tissue´. I´m not sure how to
explain in english, sorry for that.

For a moment he thought whether he should or shouldn´t fill up my expander. Of course I told him that I would only want him to do it, when he was absolutely sure.
He understood and decided that he would do it. The filling itself needed a lot of pressure to push the water in. He said this was because of the sticking of the expander.
He managed to get 25cc in.

After that he got my arm in his hands. It was already some bigger, which was good, because the edge looked way better this way. He took my skin and pulled it hard!
As I was shocked I pulled back my arm! He asked if it hurted, but I told him that I found it scary! I`m so carefull with it myself and now he almost rips it apart (which he didnt
of course, it just felt that way :P). I was surprised, my skin could really take some. Well, next tuesday I´m coming back for another filling up. I need to massage my arm all
the time now, just to keep it loose and all.

Tweede opvulling // Second expansion - September 17 2011

ENGLISH: On august 30th I visited VU hospital again for a second expansion. The docter checked the edge of the expander specifically and told me that looked quite sensitive. He would slowly fill the balloon this time, but not too much. If it breaks, the wound is infected, my arm has to heal and we will start all over again... Hell no I want thát to happen!

Im very carefull with it as well. I try not to lift too much and not to make any strange turnarounds with my arm. And sometimes I put a bandage around it just to make the pressure a bit less.
The next filling will be on september 27th. We try to do it more often now and fill up a little less every time.
